About the Author
Kate McMullan is the author of the chapter book series Dragon Slayers' Academy as well as easy-readers featuring Fluffy, the Classroom Guinea Pig. She and her illustrator husband, Jim McMullan, have created several award-winning picture books, including I STINK!, I'M DIRTY!, and I'M BIG! Her latest work is SCHOOL! Adventures at Harvey N. A different perspective on popular myths which really rings

Kate McMullan has created an excellent twist on traditional myth telling. I bought these books for my older two children (ages 9 & 7) and found them not only funny, but extremely eye opening and appropriate for adults as well. They should really be read in tandem with Bullfinch's anthologies in any mythology class, as it offers a view from the "other" side, which is rarely, if ever, explored.
In this "episode" a beautiful and very kind, minor moon goddess is transformed into the legendary "turn men into stone" gorgon by a very jealous and self important , major goddess. It is a story of how understanding and being compassionate to others can overcome even the seemingly worse circumstances and reveal the true beauty beneath.

Better than the original myth

I'm a big fan of greek mythology and this is my favorite story.
I've read this book about 14 times and it's still my favorite.
The only part I didn't like was when Psyche spent all those years trying to make Aphrodite happy and see Cupid again. She seemed to good for him.
I definetely recommend this book, but you should first read the myth Eros (Cupid) and Psyche so you have a better idea of what's going on.

Love is in the air

This book was an extremely funny book, and is the second Myth-O-Mania with Cupid. Inthis one Hades meets the beautiful mortal Psyche at a wrestling match, and soon after the Show-offy goddes Aphrodite discovers mortals have stopped worshipping her because of Psyche's beauty. Cupid is sent to make her fall in love with the smelliest mortal alive, but falls in love with her. Since he is a teenager he doesn't want Psyche to see him so hideous, so he and Zeus have a brilliant plan...This book is just as good as the first three and hsi garrunteed yo make you laugh.
