Very Useful Book

So far, I have not been disappointed. I have read the first chapter and have picked up a lot of useful tips. I am a beginner with Blender 2.77 and this release came out last month so I'm hoping it will cover a lot of current topics.

I haven't seen any parts mentioning the awesome new grease pencil features yet but I will keep this review updated as I go through it. So far I am completely satisfied with the purchase even though it was quite expensive. ( I will take good care of it in case I trade it in for someone else to enjoy as well.)

I am still enjoying this wonderful book. Presently around chapter 5 and there are many things I have been able to learn and work with. I love the illustrations and find absorbing the software with a book very comforting. I also supplement this book with a video link Mr. Blain references early on. Very good together!

One of my reasons for getting this book is how much easier it is on my eyes reading a printed work. I look at monitors a lot and it's a nice break for my vision.

There is a great deal left for me to learn and I love the challenge this work brings. If it was too easy , I would quickly become bored. Too hard and I would feel overwhelmed and give up. This book is in my sweet spot. I really like the style of the author who makes me feel like he cares whether or not I understand his teaching method and it works for me perfectly.

Good for beginner. Good for expert.

(At the time of writing this, Amazon erroneously lists this edition as having 232 pages. It actually has over 600 pages.)

I'm only a little way into it so far, but I have experience with learning other 3D modeling packages from books, and this book is very good at the job. It assumes no prior knowledge so it's good for beginning and building a strong foundation, but it also covers the software in enough breadth and depth that it will remain useful reference material even with general expertise. Everything is well illustrated (and in color.)

The only area it falls short for me is that there is no included CD or DVD containing tutorial setup/asset files. When outside assets are recommended, internet links are supplied. There is a price benefit from not including a disc, but I don't like the impermanence; those files will almost certainly still be available a year from now, but... they might not be. The tutorials are structured so that an outdated link for an asset is unlikely to bother you, but a trade-off seems to be that tutorials won't involve advanced complex scenes. For now this is not bad - it means the tutorials are "platonic ideals" that focus on each feature without distraction of unrelated complexity, but once I've mastered the software, there is also a realm of technical artistry and creative techniques I'll want to learn from seeing how different artists chose to approach various problems. That is really a topic for a different book. This book will get me from here to there, and remain valuable while I am there.

This book has multiple same pages, it's like deja vu. You'll be reading the book and the exact same page will come up again a couple of pages later. It's an okay book but either they screwed it up in printing or they meant to print the exact same page a couple pages later.

The Module You've Been Waiting For!

This is a fantastic adventure for fist level characters!
The PCs can really get drawn in by getting to know the townspeople they help out, and eventually become their only hope!
Plot twists abound! Keeping the story line quite interesting for a prewritten adventure that's "on rails." A wonderful dungeon(s) crawl setting!

As a PC, I wouldn't recommend playing a cavalier. As the entire meat of the module is indoors or underground. And that would really limit this class's mount. (unless you're a small PC on a wolf or something, have at!)

As a GM, be ready to look up some of the stats of the more basic monsters (this is common, so no reason to complain of a prewritten adventure). And they're all available free online too!

Also, the experience given doesn't *quite* add up to where it expects you to level. (Even doing a fair amount of the optional stuff leaves you hanging at times) So I'd recommend using the chart giving the recommended levels for various parts of the module as the way to advance your party.

Overall a great time is to be had with everyone involved with this adventure! Running it again starting this weekend!

A nice module to run player characters through it takes a lot of the work out so the game master can just concentrate on running a good story. I highly recommend this product especially for beginners it lays out everything and it is a good starter module

Haven't played with the group yet.

Looks good so far, have not played through it with our group yet. I haven't read through the full adventure yet, but it looks like a good mini-campaign for people just getting into Pathfinder compared to the complexity and vastness of the adventure path's like Rise of the Runelords.

Hello people! Novice tutors or keyboard masters, read this walkthrough and you will find out how to build a qualitative course on Udemy, avoiding any frustration regarding the process and finding out how can you market your work. Cristi did a great job on explaining the "thick and thin" involved in writing and making an Udemy course from scratch. Another nice thing is that Cristi answered my extra questions regarding the topic. I didn't buy a guide, I bought a full user experience!

If I could give ZERO stars, I would.

Save your money. If I could have given this ZERO stars I would have. Wiley clearly is focused on just collecting the cash. Not only does the book not do an adequate job of covering the topics of the Series 3 exam, but it is also riddled with mistakes, miscalculations, typos, and errors.

For instance, in the practice questions section, there are numerous cases where the correct answer is mislabeled -- you have to be sure to read all the explanations to be certain you didn't answer it correctly but they've scored it wrong. Also, in the NFA/CFTC disclosures section, there is a whole block of text that was seemingly cut and paste incorrectly from another section. These errors go on and on. There are easily 10 errors / mistakes in each chapter. For the price of the book and the reputation of Wiley, I would have expected much better quality.

I find myself in the position of now having to go out and purchase additional exam prep materials because I feel like this doesn't even get me halfway there. Before you go thinking I'm just a poor test-taker, know that I successfully studied and passed my Series 7 and 63, each with >95%. So, it's not that I'm not capable. It's just a terrible product. I can't say it enough. Don't bother with this one.

Errors and typos throughout

This book is a head scratcher. So many errors and typos etc. throughout its rather odd. The test sections are confusing because the answers conflict with the info. Can't leave a review on their website so I left it here. Not really a good buy for the money unless you already have a firm understanding of the material

I agree with the previous comments. While the book does give basic fundamentals as to the information required for the series 3 exam. I found that I learned more through internet resources and supplementation materials than I did with this book. I passed my exam but there is no way I could have with just this book alone. In regards to the typos and incorrect calculations, they are commonplace throughout almost every chapter. Overall I would not waste the money, if you can find this book secondhand then do so and avoid paying for the cost of the book.
